This larger denomination 5000 Escudos banknote from 1987 Portugal is in great condition. All of the paper banknotes using Escudos were the national currency in Portugal prior to entering the European Union in 2002. The note itself is not quite uncirculated but is better graded at around Extra Fine and is priced accordingly. The banknote features Antero de Quental the Portuguese poet and philosopher.
