The Great War was at its peak when this 5 Mark banknote was released on 1 August 1917. The paper is overall in reasonably good condition. There is a small stain on the lower left of the obverse which would appear to be the remnants of an old paper clip or similar. Interest among collectors for banknotes from this era has always been strong and particularly for notes that were issued by the Darlehenskassen. If your looking to start a collection of German currency notes then this is a great and affordable place to start.
