SERIAL 5.226093 This is a remarkably good example of this note which was released by the National Debt Office on 12th August 1914 shortly after the outbreak of World War I on 28 July 1914. The edges are good. Upper corners have light dog earing which was probably caused by note album hinges. The stamp embossing is near perfect. Overall a remarkably clean and nice example Red seal with cross bloom watermark. This is the rarest of the One Mark issues from this era of Darlehnkasse banknotes.
